Topic: What's my best suited career ?

Discovered Myself

After I graduated in Pharmaceutical science from the University of Thailand, I started my career as a sales-representative. I didn’t earn much money, so I wasn’t happy. I thought perhaps the more money I got, the more happiness I would find. A few years later, I was promoted to a higher position, and the payment was liberal. However, I was still unhappy, and I didn’t enjoy doing my job. I didn’t know the reason until I had a chance to run my own business that is similar to a math center. I am the manager, accountant and teacher in my own school. Although it is a tough job, and I earn less money than my previous job, I am delighted while I am running the school. Especially, my most enjoyable time is teaching students. Eventually, being a math teacher is my best suited career, for the exacting work, unexpected consequences and great contentment.

Most important, outstanding teaching is a challenging dynamic task. For opening a math school, the standard quality of teaching is vital. Therefore, I put in the long hours and intense effort through planning, studying and preparing appropriate lessons for students. Moreover, during my teaching, I observe students and try to find out what problems they have. Then applying my math skill, combining psychological techniques, and explaining to them how to solve problems in a practical way is a challenging work. Also, every student has individual potential and problems that I must use different methods to solve. I learn numerous experiences from them for developing my teaching skill. Indeed, I truly enjoy doing the job even though it needs extreme effort in order to be done successfully.

Furthermore, students’ self-confidence, parents’ pride and my job appreciation are the unanticipated results. After students get better marks in school, their circumstances are full of joy. Kids can smile with confidence while talking about mathematics; some change their attitude towards math, and some understand the meaning of “You reap what you sow.” Parents are very proud of their children as well. Beyond that, I feel ecstatic over my achievement, and I realize the best job is not always high income, but it should be beneficial to other people. In fact, these unexpected consequences are great values for my life.

Finally, I can earn a living involving my favorite subject. It’s not easy to achieve in your working life. For example, my brother is an engineer although he truly likes music, or a good friend of mine is a doctor, but he likes mechanical work. Whereas I love mathematics, I can earn money through enjoying thinking and solving math problems. Also, I find that teaching is my best-loved occupation after I did other tedious work for 15 years. I always appreciate seeing students’ confidence and happiness when they can solve problems by themselves. My work is the kind of usefulness
that can help students from their difficulties; in addition, I can earn money from it. Certainly, I have a good chance to find out who I am and what I really want. Also, I have the job that is my favorite one.

Without doubt, being a math teacher is my best suited career because I am challenged to test my ability, the teaching outcomes are better than I ever expected, and it is my pleasure to do it everyday. I am the lucky and happy person who has discovered myself, and can earn my living by doing the job I love.
